The Adepta Sororitas, as a tabletop force, date back to the 2nd Edition of Warhammer 40,000 however, their first codex only came out in 1997 meaning that they still remain one of the younger factions in the venerable tabletop wargame. Now, barely a year after reviving them with a whole new plastic model range and codex, Games Workshop has granted the Sisters of Battle a second full codex, seemingly in the middle of the 9th Edition, putting the often overlooked faction on the same standing as many more prominent veteran armies. Recently, as part of the game’s 9th Edition, they’ve received much more of a focus than in prior incarnations.įor many fans, the sight of an Adepta Sororitas codex had come to prophesy that a new edition of the game was on its way, as they were often seen as an afterthought. The star is rising for the Warhammer 40k’s Adepta Sororitas, more commonly known as the Sisters of Battle.
