Rockstar Games effectively designed this Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC and other users. Not only that, it is a prequel to the Red Dead Redemption that is released in 2010. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third installment in the Red Dead series.

I triggered the bug and am thinking this may be a good time to set RDR2 aside for a while.

There’s so much to like about RDR2 but playing it can be so tedious and frustrating that repeating all those interminable horse rides and pokey walks through camp isn’t an appealing option. Losing some of their story content is a lot to give up. Marston and Abigail are central to the Red Dead story and Sadie is a compelling character in her own right.

It’s so easy to trigger without knowing it.

A lot happens during the quest, some choices that seem to make sense lead to failure, inadvertent actions often lead to failures early in the game before you’ve gotten comfortable with RDR2’s awkward UI and control system, and restarting from a checkpoint is almost always preferable to restarting a mission. “Polite Society, Valentine Style” starts the main quest line, the game leads you to it, and many players will jump on it to get the story going and gain access to all the things in Valentine. It’s also very easy to fail. Failing the mission and using Retry Checkpoint triggers the bug restarting the mission instead of returning to the most recent checkpoint avoids it. It's the one where you and Uncle take the women into town. The bug is triggered if you make a typical choice during the first mission in the main quest line at the beginning of Chapter 2, “Polite Society, Valentine Style”.
